Making a clean handwritten declaration image for upload

A number of competitive exams (UPSC and some state PSC applications in particular) require applicants to handwrite a short declaration statement — often dictated word-for-word by the exam authority — sign it, and upload it as an image alongside the application. Portals are typically strict about the format: plain white paper, black or blue ink, and a specific pixel/KB limit similar to a signature upload.

This tool takes a photo or scan of your handwritten declaration and resizes and compresses it to the exam portal's expected specification, correcting for the oversized files a phone camera produces by default.

Because the exact wording of the declaration is usually mandated by the exam notification, double-check your statement matches the required text exactly before photographing it — a portal will reject an otherwise well-formatted image if the declaration text itself doesn't match what was asked for.

FAQ

Which exams are supported?

Presets cover SSC, UPSC, RRB, IBPS, SBI, NTA, IB, State PSC, CAPF and more — 86 exam presets in total across the toolkit.

What if my exam isn't listed?

You can enter a custom pixel size and KB limit directly.

Where do I find the exact wording required for my exam's declaration?

It's specified in your exam's official notification or application instructions — the wording is usually mandatory and exam-specific, so this tool only handles sizing the image, not the text content.

What paper and pen should I use for the handwritten declaration?

Plain white A4 paper and black or dark blue ink gives the cleanest scan. Avoid ruled paper if the exam notification specifies a plain sheet.
